Swain Community Hospital Hope Group to Focus on Coping with Loneliness and Feelings of Emptiness
August 24, 2026
Swain Community Hospital's Senior Life Solutions program invites community members to its upcoming Hope Group on Tuesday, September 1, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Senior Life Solutions in Bryson City. The free monthly group is open to individuals of all ages and provides education, encouragement and meaningful conversation around mental and emotional well-being.
September's discussion will focus on loneliness and how to cope with feelings of loneliness and emptiness throughout different stages of life. Participants will have the opportunity to learn practical strategies, connect with others and have open conversations in a supportive environment.
While Senior Life Solutions primarily supports the mental health needs of older adults experiencing depression, anxiety and other challenges often associated with aging, Hope Group is designed for the broader community. The monthly gathering can also be a helpful resource for adults caring for aging parents or loved ones, offering an opportunity to learn more about mental wellness and healthy coping strategies.
Hope Group is held on the first Tuesday of each month, with a different mental wellness topic featured at each session. The September meeting will take place at Senior Life Solutions, 45 Plateau Street, Bryson City, NC 28713. Light refreshments will be provided.
The program is free to attend. To RSVP or learn more, call 828.488.4044 or email rachel.vining@lifepointhealth.net.
Through Hope Group and other community-based resources, Swain Community Hospital remains committed to creating opportunities for meaningful connection, education and support while encouraging open conversations about mental wellness throughout Western North Carolina.
