Swain Family Care, a Department of Swain Community Hospital, to accept walk-in patients beginning June 1

Swain Community Hospital is expanding access to primary and same-day care for the community through new walk-in availability at Swain Family Care, a department of Swain Community Hospital, located inside the hospital at 45 Plateau Street in Bryson City. 

Beginning June 1, Swain Family Care will accept walk-in patients from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Walk-in visits will be available for new and established patients of all ages, including pediatric patients. 

The expanded availability is designed to make it easier for community members and families to receive timely care for common health needs without having to schedule an appointment in advance. Walk-in visits may be appropriate for sick visits, minor injuries, sports physicals, and other non-emergency health concerns. 

Established patients are welcome to use walk-in availability, however, they will be seen by an available provider and are not guaranteed to see their regular provider during a walk-in visit.
