Swain Family Care welcomes Benjamin Gans, DO; physician joining practice in early October

BRYSON CITY, N.C. – Swain Family Care is pleased to welcome Benjamin Gans, DO who will begin seeing patients October 2. Dr. Gans joins Tammy Johnston, MD, Dave Johnston, MD, Brooke Budde, DO, and certified physician assistants Vicki McCormack and Angela Struna in providing adult and pediatric care to the residents of Swain and Graham counties and the surrounding area. The practice is located inside Swain Community Hospital at 45 Plateau St. and can be reached by calling (828) 488-4205.
Dr. Gans completed a family medicine residency program at Community Westview Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind., where he served as chief resident. Dr. Gans received his medical degree from Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Ariz., after completing undergraduate studies at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.
“The addition of Dr. Gans to Swain Family Care will expand access to primary care in the region we serve. With three family physicians, a pediatrician certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and two physician assistants, Swain Family Care can see patients of all ages on a walk-in basis and can provide primary care with onsite, same-day access to imaging and lab services.
